Straplines, the media quiz, was held for the first time on February 7 as part of the quiz fest at Meta. It was organised by St Joseph’s College in association with the Karnataka Quiz Association (KQA).

The quiz had a 25-question preliminary round and a final round, for which eight teams qualified. It was an open quiz, which meant that participation wasn’t restricted to just school and college students.

The final consisted of five rounds, the first being a written round centred around cartoons based on news events from the last decade. The second and third rounds were clockwise and anticlockwise, and worked in the KQA’s infinite bounce system. The final round was the most crucial, because it had differential scoring, which meant that there was 100 points up for grabs.

The winners were pretty clear. Rajat Krishna and Nishanth Raman took the top spot with ease, followed by Kaustuba Venugopal and Abhishek Upadya. Jaidev Bhaskaran and Siddarth Pai placed third.
